As a Postpartum Doula & Lactation Counselor, Allegra offers support to new families in the first weeks of baby's birth.
Allegra's goal is to facilitate the transition to parenthood by supplying reliable and factual information, emotional support and hands-on support with children, extended family (including older siblings) and general household organization. Through this integrated support, she is able to help families welcome Baby into the family in a loving and gentle manner.
When desired by the family, she also incorporates yoga, meditation, breathe work, and Reiki into her services.
Allegra is available for postpartum doula services in the home as well as in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Allegra provides practical support to new families in the first weeks of baby's life. This can include newborn care, basic house and nursery organization, simple cooking, errand-running, laundry, sibling care. She can accompany new parents to doctor's appointments, new mom's groups, and social outings.
Allegra provides informational support and guidance by maintaining an active and relevant referral network to assist new families, including: medical, logistical, and social (new mom's group, Mommy & Me activities, etc). As a Lactation Counselor, she supports a nursing mother with breast feeding guidance. She supports a bottle-feeding mother with bottle feeding strategies and skills. She assists families in developing the ability to seek out resources and referrals independently after her time with the family is over.
